At 21cm x 30cm this is a study for a much bigger painting, also on this feed. Narrow neck is a much loved ridge north of Katoomba. Kanimbla and the Megalong Valley can be seen in the distance.

I saw this striking wedge of light.

Lincoln’s Rock is one of the favourite lookouts in the Blue Mountains. There is a beautiful subtle geometry in it’s ancient forms. There is also a lot of mindless carving of names and initials.


Thousands of years of wind and rain sculpts the Blue Mountains rocks into beautiful weird shapes. This one looked like a crashed flying saucer. I painted it as it was , without exaggeration.

After heavy rain the clouds were lifting up to the hilltops.
