There is a great struggle going on in very slow motion. This sandstone headland was laid down from eroded quartz 200 million years ago has been lifted up above the receding sea as cliffs and then relentlessly battered by wind, rain and waves. It seems to be falling apart but it resists in its defiance of the inevitable death and rebirth.
